I am one of those quite tired of a thing called a “scientific fact”. All those with some distance to themselves and the world, our civilization, knows that truth and science is something ever changing, and to call something absolute or unquestionable looks naive in that perspective.
I like the way Oscar Wilde puts it in “The picture of Dorian Gray”:
Lord Henry: Do you feel quite sure of that, Dorian?
Dorian: Quite sure
Lord Henry: Ah! Then it must be an illusion. The things one feels absolutely certain about are never true.
